The Briggs Files
The Briggs Files is a body of statistical analyses of Tecmo. Here, we will thoroughly analyze player data in an effort to try and state where players, teams, and plays rank relative to others. We will dig deep and search for the true keys to victory.
The Briggs Files may astound you. They may disturb you. They may keep you up late at night. And you may even refer to them in the fourth quarter of a close game.
Read our conclusions carefully. Make sure you understand how we came up with the numbers. Then, if you disagree, let us know. The science of Tecmology shall not be a narrow-minded field. Our spreadsheets and theories of how to improve at Tecmo are forever changing.
With that in mind, select a Briggs File and learn from what you see.

-
Team Offensive Line
The best offensive line based on total hitting power.
-
Quarterbacks
Here in the Briggs Files, we don't play that silly "add up all the numbers" game. We weight each attribute as we do see fit.
-
Place Kickers
During Tecmo 3 league play, field goal attemps are invariably followed by a great deal of swearing. If you try a field goal with a kicker not on the appropriate list, I hate to say I told you so, but...
-
Wide Receiver Tandems
Ranked by 40% Maximum Speed + Receptions. Tight Ends are included.
-
"T Power Sweep"
One of the best running plays in Tecmo III is the "T Power Sweep". Both guards pull, and along with the fullback they provide blocking for the ball carrier. Whether the following list is meaningful at all is hard to say. But here are the combined hitting powers for the two guards of every team.
